Putting in 2 weeks after taking time off?
Work at an EB in NYC and am in final round interview stage for an immediate start position at a PE fund, maybe 2 or 3 candidates that are being considered at this stage (myself included). About a month ago I notified my team that I would be taking time off end of March, and now there are fairly good chances that I receive the offer.
So I’m wondering has anyone put in 2 weeks shortly after taking a week off and is that something that is heavily frowned upon? Didn’t know that the final rounds would coincide with my time off when I was planning my trip but timing seems a bit poor now. Not sure what to do here.
Nobody really cares after a day or so - most people would start using their vacation days as soon as they know they are going to leave soon so it's not uncommon.
Have you seen it happen before at any places you’ve worked? What were reactions like?
I did it myself. There was some surprised faces but that was it. Spent my two weeks passing stuff off to the other analysts and bounced, drama free.
Fuck em, you do you
Fuck them. If 1 analyst leaving causes such a big deal, then they have much bigger issues
Dude you're putting in your two weeks...who cares what they think? Let them frown all they want, most of them will forget your name in a month.
You deserve to chill so I wouldn't sweat it
This is totally acceptable. Take your vacation with no guilt and then put your two weeks in
