Well, it could be the best in the street but do you want to do RE? Not everyone wants to do RE and you have to be really passionate about RE to enjoy it (according to people that I have spoken in RE groups). If you go into RE there’s a higher likelihood of you getting stuck in RE for exit opps.
I definitely like Real Estate, but do you think MS RE IBD will limit me with exit opps?
Yes but not 100%. It’s niche.
So do you think PWP would be the better choice all around?
PWP generalist will give you much more opportunities. Both have great names (MS a little better), but PWP will be much better since you’re not in a core group like M&A or Fig. Take PWP for culture, pay, and optionality in M&A/buyouts
Good point, based on offer letters from each the base pay and bonuses at PWP are higher. Culture at PWP seems to relaxed for an EB but everyone is super smart. Deal exposure as an analyst is also very hyped up and I prob would not get lost in the crowd like MS
Exactly, don’t be a cog in the system. Go make your own path, work on cool deals, and go where you want in your career. PWP will give you more options than MS RE. Had this been MS M&A, it would be a harder choice. Good luck!
If you don’t 100% want to do RE, I’d choose PWP
