Question about MSF program

I was recently accepted to UMKC's MSF program beginning in just over a week. My question is this: Its not exactly a target school, but its got a decent program. I'd like to break into IB, preferably M&A as that's where my interests are most aligned. I am a reporting analyst for a high-tier logistics company, basically I fix and create spreadsheets for data tracking. My question is this: is my career and my MSF going to be a good Segway. I know that state school isn't going to have any BB's or boutiques clamoring and chasing me with sacks of money, and my major concern is that I'd be pissing away time and money trying to chase a dream. I am a good student, but I also live in Kansas City, which is not exactly known to be a financial hub. I could really use some advice guys.
