Question on GS Interview Scheduling Portal

I received an invitation to interview with Goldman (experienced hire). I got a link that takes me to a calendar portal that allows me to select various times I’m available, so I set a bunch of dates for later this week and next week.

I noticed they have a small window of time”suggested availability” for a day - but unfortunately I can’t make that time. I presume, based on the description, it’s the platform’s way of suggesting an open slot that works for the interviewers but it’s odd that they would only suggest a very small window on just one day.

I haven’t seen any updates from HR coming back yet. I was wondering if anyone’s had any experience with GS interview scheduling portal and directionally how long it takes to get something in the books? Just so I can plan ahead for the interview / block off time for it in advance…

Thanks all!

Most large banks, including GS, use scheduling portals that look automated but are still coordinated manually behind the scenes.

The “suggested availability” usually just reflects a slot that works well for the interviewers’ calendars. It’s not mandatory, so if you submitted other times, the recruiting team will typically try to match one of those.

From what I’ve seen mentoring candidates through similar processes:

• Confirmation can take 24–72 hours• Sometimes, up to a week if multiple interviewers need to align schedules

So no response yet is pretty normal.

If you don’t hear back after 3–4 business days, just send a quick note to the recruiter confirming your availability was received and reiterating your interest.

For now, just keep some flexibility in your calendar next week.

Good luck — GS interviews move quickly once they’re scheduled.

Thanks for your detailed response!

You’re right, I think they are currently processing it manually. My concern  is if say they pick a time end of this week and only get back to me by say Thursday and I can no longer do it at that time…

I did give availability out into early next week as well, but I also wasn’t sure if I should have given more time slots if I knew they would be on the potentially slower side. I didn’t because I was concerned about potentially slowing down their process, or being perceived as such.

Have your friends, mentees, etc run into a similar situation?

Yes, two of my mentees reported similar issue. Not only with GS but also other institutions.

It's pretty common. You just need to be 'flexible' they're receiving lots of candidates.

And to add - if you have similarly had to wait a bit for it to be scheduled - how much time did you wait to circle back with them, and at what email address?

The portal doesn’t have a contact section. I could try replying to the automated email that sent me the link, but it’s unclear if that is an active email or a non-reply email address…
