RBC NYC

Saw the RBC is recruiting analysts for a lot of groups right now. Wondering about culture, wlb, and exits specifically in the tech and M&A groups. Also with the amount of openings posted right now is this a red flag (bad culture) or are they just expanding due to deal flow?

Main factor has been deal flow, increasing capacity to catch up to their market share which has grown so much over last few years.

But my understanding is that the M&A group is extremely sweaty and has caused a lot of burnout amongst the juniors. Entire analyst class left after their first year (various exits from lateraling into top banking groups, buyside spots, exit from financial services overall) and the associate turnover has also been crazy. I think the seniors have realized the group was understaffed, so they’re hiring more people than just replacement # of those who left.
