Re-recruiting for FT during summer internship
Hi all,
I will be interning at a LMM IB this summer in a tier 2 city (Boston/Chicago/SF). I want to re-recruit to NYC, ideally for EB/BB - where I had interviews for on-cycle SA recruiting but did not convert. I'm coming from a hyper-nontarget university and am very grateful for my current opportunity, but want to get to NYC by any means necessary.
Can anyone shed any light on the process of cold outreach, coffee chatting, networking, and potentially interviewing during my internship in a completely different city?
To successfully re-recruit for a full-time role in NYC while interning in another city, here’s a structured approach based on the most helpful WSO content:
1. Cold Outreach and Networking
2. Coffee Chats and Building Relationships
3. Networking During the Internship
4. Timing and Strategy
5. Interview Preparation
6. Cold Calling Tips
By combining these strategies, you can maximize your chances of transitioning to NYC for a full-time role. Remember, persistence and genuine relationship-building are key!

As a hypernontarget you'll be lucky to get KeyBanc New York.
dont rly know if ur joking, but how would u say re-recruiting prospects change if ur starting in NYC but still at a LMM/MM firm
Still the same if you're at a hypernontarget. Of course if you have personal connections to better firms you could do better than KeyBanc.
