Regional Boutique IB vs Big Four M&A (Which one has a better chance of breaking into BB)

Hi guys,

I'm currently working at a regional boutique located in Toronto. I've been trying to network to break into some of the other better known MM shops or Canadian big five BBs. However, nothing has happened just yet. Some of my friends who are also working in the industry recommended going for a position at Big four M&A. I am just wondering for those of you who have gone through the lateral shift process. Which route is better in terms of breaking into bigger banks?

Any pearls of wisdom are much appreciated!
