Rescinded Offer
Every couple of days, someone is worried about the risk of their offer being rescinded. Which begs the question… How many people do you know who have actually gotten their offer rescinded and what was the reason?

Career Resources
- failed background check is a common reason ie bad credit or criminal
- otherwise fudged employment, dates or title inflation
Otherwise... in rare cases the headcount could disappear before hiring someone, but that is random
What about things everyone usually worries about like calling references , gpa, etc
A reference will only confirm employment. They won't comment on anything else, most corporate guidelines say it like this. If a former hiring manager rips you into pieces and you lose a job because of that... not sure how that would reflect on him either. HR or a peer will confirm dates/title, end of story.
GPA: you go into the HR portal and put in the correct GPA. some verification portal on the college network will confirm it, via phone or online.
we rescinded an interns return offer because he was interviewing else where and the dumba** interviewed with one of our close clients
Haha wow. How did you end up finding out? Did they call you or how did they know he had accepted an interview with you already?
yea pe firm md called our md
1) incorrect info on resume (blatant, not like 3.6 vs 3.7)
2) extremely inappropriate social media posts (public).
Oh that's interesting! Thanks for your reply. I wonder how common social media screens are for candidates
What do you mean blatant?
Internships that weren’t true, wrong GPA by more than 0.4, etc.
