Resume/CV Review for IBD

Hey WSO Community,

Long-time lurker and just wanted to say how grateful I am for all the invaluable advice everyone has given.

I just finished my undergrad and will be starting a finance masters at a top UK target. I have attached my CV and my goals would be to join IBD at a BB bank in UK/APAC. Not looking to return to Canada where I did my undergrad. Any tips and revision on my CV would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks.

Are there any suggestions you have for the transaction experience? I listed them just so I could talk about them more in-depth during interviews. People usually say talk about results obtained; as an intern, I don't think you can BS something like you helped achieve this much cost-savings etc...

Additional insight is always welcome!

For the investment fund part, I would recommend staying away from saying how many people were in it. Only tell them if they ask.

Along with that I would also summarize your transaction history, I think not putting everything on piece of paper and instead saying it out-loud in an interview might play to your advantage.

In terms of what you accomplished you should have no trouble getting an interview so really the resume won't be too heavily scrutinized.

Seems pretty solid. Agree with bNNNN regarding the menial tasks you identify. I would say try to find something where you actually did something relevant, or don't get into much detail if it is brainless stuff! For example, I would maybe drop this: "Facilitated the ongoing legal work, ensuring that the transaction be approved before the projected deadline" GL!

Thanks!

It's so hard to find really meaningful things to say without it sounding too fluffed up, since interns don't really make drastic contributions to anything lol. The most impressive thing I did was attend multiple client social gatherings/dinners (mind you this is Shanghai so it's more common), but definitely not going to mention that on my resume. :P
