Risk Management

Wasn't sure where else to post this but here goes.

Just joined a GS/MS type in their risk management group, focusing on the same asset class my prior job did. After about a month in office (really the first week), I realized risk is not for me whatsoever. I came from a front office job and was enamored by the opportunity to work for a bank like this one, and realized I did not ask all the proper questions during the interview.

My question for you all is if I should just throw in my chips and start looking elsewhere now? Or do I suck it up and stay in risk for 1-2 years and get this brand name on my resume?

Should note I cannot apply for internal transfer internally until 18 months, and I truthfully do not know if I can last 6.

So you worked a front office job at a smaller bank, then lateralled to a BB bank into their risk department? I don't know how you got yourself in this situation, can you expand on that?

I find it puzzling. By this logic, could you have also landed yourself in the IT department, etc? Idk how you could switch roles and departments like that without knowing.
