Risk of using Advanced Graduation Year?

Is there a cost to using your advanced graduation date on your resume to apply for junior summer internships when it's really going to be your sophomore summer? I technically do have advanced standing but wonder if there is a risk with doing this or if it has any benefit.

I've seen a handful of offers get rescinded for this, they verify enrollment with the school and your standing is well outside of their stated timeline. You will also be blacklisted if/when they offer you a return and you awkwardly have 2 more years of school. If you are actually intending to graduate early, fine

IMO - your reputation is everything in this very small industry. Intern at a small, random place for sophomore year like everyone else and network hard for junior year. It's not so hard to land an IB internship that you should resort to questionable things so early in your career.

What if I clarify on my resume that I am class of 2025 due to advanced standing?
