Rogue staffed

I keep getting rogue staffed for small tasks and it’s driving me crazy.

11pm: can you price update this?

12pm: can you make a pib on y?
how do I handle this? Tell the staffer? I’m at capacity and it’s annoying the shit of me and it doesn’t help the stress of not being able to step away from the computer.

Hopefully, you have a relationship with an analyst or associate who isn't your staffer. Hard to comment on dynamics like this without knowing all of the details, but talk to someone who has been there a while and get their advice. The one thing you don't want to do is come across the wrong way to your staffer.

Ah I used to hate those. Not sure if you’ve developed a good reputation yet but once I did, I used to:

1. Ignore the emails. Unless they were from an important VP/Director who you respect or from an MD directly, doesn’t hurt to just ignore it.

2. If you feel too paranoid, cc your staffer on the reply. Either let the staffer catch on that people are circumventing him/her and that he/she needs to do a better job or once you’ve had enough of those emails, let the staffer know that these emails are distracting you from your core staffings so that from now on, you will just forward the emails to the staffer so that he/she can assign out to other analysts or add them as proper staffings on your staffing log so you get some protection on other BS stuff your other analysts surely are dealing with.
