Rothschild / Moelis (Associate / VP) Compensation in Dubai
Hey guys, what can someone expect for compensation in Dubai (base + bonus + housing allowance) at these shops at various levels? My understanding is they pay in USD
I've seen data points on this forum for Associate 2 at an EB (US$152k base + 60 - 120% bonus) but it was before COVID. Is it US$175K base now?
Associate 1
Associate 2
Associate 3
VP 1
Any data point would be great. As always, I appreciate this community's help!!!

While these figures provide a general idea, specific compensation packages in Dubai may vary, especially considering housing allowances and other benefits. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, consulting recent threads or directly reaching out to professionals in the region would be beneficial.

Moelis is the same as NYC - I believe Roths should be too. Source: Have a close friend working there
hi, are you able to ask your friend what the standard comp could be? Associate comp - does the base include housing or is it standard $175k+ housing allowance ($30k I believe?) + bonus (expected % - is it 50 - 60% or more at the Associate level)? thanks!
Here is what he told me for Moelis DXB comp last year (can try and get EVR figures if helpful, he knows someone there too) -
ASO1 - $370k all in
ASO2 - $500k all-in
ASO3 - $640k all-in
Not sure about base/bonus split here - no housing allowance
A1-3 comp?
Will ask my friend
All-in figures (including housing allowance for EVR)
Moelis (2y AN programme) -
AN1 - $195k
AN2 - $225k
EVR -
AN1 - $235k
AN2 - $255k
AN3 - $275k

Im working at one of the EBs (Moelis/Roth/Eve) and all above numbers are really high and not reflective of actual figures. Most of the comp is either in line with NY or slightly lower due to no tax buffer (maybe except for certain blow out years but on average it is equal or lower)
Aren't these #s in line with NYC tho? Not sure how accurate BTW it's just what my friend told me
Sounds like you work for Roths - they pay below market in the Middle East, especially bonus wise
I saw Evercore is strenghtening its hiring for the Dubai office, is its deal flow improving in the region?
Also, I saw an opening for an M&a analyst position for Lazard in Riyadh, how do you think the comp will look like?
Do you think banks will pay a premium over Dubai for Riyadh positions?
I both know Roth and Moelis are not pulling those numbers (not sure how the above poster got those figures, maybe it is assuming pre-NYC tax), however have heard Evercore has some comp premium but let’s see how sustainable that is given the region is dominated by Moco/Roth
Do you know any figures for Riyadh?
Moco?
I was wondering how many hours do you work from what i heard its a sweatshop but looking at this comp it seems worth it
