RX Full Time Prep

Hi, I am an incoming RX analyst at an EB. What are some materials/books that I can review to best prepare for full time (besides Moyers)? Note that not sure if I can access DebtWire, Reorg without paying lol

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some recommended materials and books to prepare for a full-time role as an RX analyst:

  1. Investment Banking: Valuation, Leveraged Buyouts, and Mergers and Acquisitions by Rosenbaum and Pearl

    • This book provides a solid foundation in valuation and M&A, which are crucial for restructuring.
  2. More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite by Sebastian Mallaby

    • Offers insights into the hedge fund industry, which can be relevant for understanding distressed investing.
  3. Flash Boys by Michael Lewis

    • Explains the rise of high-frequency trading and how exchanges work, which can be useful for understanding market dynamics.
  4. The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Financial Times

    • Regularly reading these publications will help you stay updated on industry trends and news, which is essential for any finance role.
  5. Recap Models and Distressed Oriented Models

    • If you can, try to get your hands on some recap models and other distressed-oriented models shared by colleagues or mentors in the RX group. These practical tools can be invaluable for your preparation.

While you may not have access to DebtWire or Reorg without paying, these resources can still provide a comprehensive preparation for your role. Good luck with your new position!
