SA 2026- Analyst asked me to wait to network?

networking for sa 2026- Just had a phone call with an alumni at an EB. Imo call went well, ran long even tho he said he had busy day, but then at end when I asked for some other points of contact to talk to he told me it was still early and that I should wait until the firm comes to our campus in a few weeks to network w other ppl and to reach out to him then. Anyone else experience that before or was he j making an excuse cus he didn’t like me?

No, there was a post like a week ago from an Analyst at an EB echoing the exact same sentiment. Upperclassmen in my finance club are also telling me to hold off on on non-Diversity EB chats until Info-sessions occur as there's a lot of chatter that HR Coffee Chat forms haven't come out yet. Honestly sort of weird that there's only like a 1.5month window for chats at the places before winter break, but it's not much of a bother. Focus on chatting firms that have already had Info sessions. - gl
