Odd question, but I currently am working in operations and making about 65K a year am up for a promotion so will likely be making around 80k. I only work 8 hour days. I want to transfer into IB but if it takes me a year and half to get in and I am making nearly 90k in ops after bonus will a investment bank match my salary if I apply for a analyst position ? I don’t Wana take a pay cut

Yes. It should be significantly higher than your current salary. First-year analyst base is usually $85K with bonus running 70-100% of that depending on performance.
