Salary for banking intern

For investment banking summer internships, how much is typically deducted in tax?

I worked at a really small investment banking firm last summer as a sophomore but they gave me a 1099 NEC and I got taxed close to $1K on just <$6K of income made over the summer.

I'm working at a larger firm now and I'm assuming they use a W2 and was wondering how much would typically be taxed on around $15K of income

Just need to know to figure out my ideal rent figure for this coming summer.
