Scotiabank IB
Could you please provide insights into Scotiabank’s top-performing investment banking groups in terms of deal flow? I’m also interested in the prevalent exit opportunities and the general work culture within these groups. Lastly, I’d appreciate a rough estimate of the remuneration structure. Thank you.
Bump
Also, what size deals does their U.S. division work on?
It’s pitch city, though at least they don’t put too much effort into their work (at least from the books we’ve seen)
Their energy team in the US used to be pretty decent. I think they still ok. Their other teams are really horrible.
Houston team is horrible…used to be decent not sure what happened
Agreed. Not even sure they have a Houston team anymore on the IB side...
Believe P&U is pretty decent in New York
Any insight on the healthcare team in NYC?
Strong P&U - look at renewables deal flow along with uptick in utility mandates but overall weak bank
how is the bank compared to other Toronto Big 5/6 banks
RBC, BMO, TD, CIBC, Scotia, National
Just investment banking though.
CIBC is irrelevant in the US. Have never seen them on anything. Maybe just a DCM player
Wow, Scotia that far down in TO?
I remember reading a few years ago they were in the top 3, what happened?
do you think scotia is decent in S&T
what would be the best strategy? Stay there for analyst stint then try buyside? I heard comp after analyst stage goes down compared to the other banks. Also, since it’s “pitchcity” how many hours would they work?
What’s pay like?
