Securities services to IBD
does anyone know anything about JP Morgan Worldwide securities services. from what i read it seems to be like an ops position. can anyone shed light on securities services as a whole. thanks in advance. i got an offer and am a sophomore, will this help land an IBD SA next summer, i know its not ideal but is it better than say a regional PWM internship.
here is the JPM description---> http://www.jpmorgan.com/tss/WssHome/Securities_Se…
no, do not accept this position. This is the lowest of Ops.....settling trades all day long.
is this true even as a sophomore...... i dont care how boring and mundane it is i can deal i just want to know how it will look on a resume if it was between that and a regional PWM
That is not true. You are not settling trades all day long. Please look at the descriptions again.
While this is not ideal for you (because you want to go into IB), it is by no means a bad/terrible job to have. On the contrary, many people want to work in Treasury/Securities Services. I would say, for most people, this is leaps and bounds better than a PWM internship, especially as a sophomore. Absolutely take the internship - and it will absolutely help you land something else, just network, work hard, etc.
