Seeking Advice - Stuck as an An2

Hey all, looking to get some advice.

I’m currently a second year analyst in an ok group at a mid-tier BB, and unfortunately still haven’t been on a deal that closed. I’ve been on a handful of live deals, but they’re still ongoing / buysides that our client did not move beyond second round. I’m not even sure that the sellside I’m on will close.

While I’ve gotten solid exposure working on models for these deals, none of the deals have closed so I can’t really be so specific and firms seem to only care about closed deals which makes sense.

Would trying to lateral at this point to a better group / better bank for Associate put me in a better spot to get a year or two in then look to recruit? Not 100% sure what I want for next job but would likely want to pursue family office / mm pe. Would definitely appreciate any advice or guidance
