Sell Side Trading to IB
Has anyone made a transition from sell side trading to IB? I feel it is a fairly rare, non traditional transition. If you are one of the select few, what did you to position yourself to acquire the role ?
I've seen someone do it internally, then switch to MF PE after 8 months. Many firms are open to internal switches after your second year.
Do u know what they did to make themselves a solid candidate. I.e modeling courses
Not to sound condescending, but do many undergrads still aspire to go into trading or is that path fairly uncommon now
Many grads still aspire to get into it. On this forum you’d think pretty much all careers are untouched outside of IB/PE/HF which is very much not the case.
