Selling my Soul to the CFA Institute
I have just registered for the February 2022 CFA Level 1 exam. Spent a lovely $1,150 to register and another $999 on the Kaplan Schweser exam prep. Rest in peace to the next 6 months of my life.
I graduated UMiami and landed a job for one of my pledge's dad's PE firm (thanks pledge). I have severe imposter syndrome here since everyone here has either CFA's, CPA's or MBAs from schools like Kellogg, Sloan, Wharton, and Stanford, and have all had years of IB or other experience.
I had a pretty good resume coming out of college but I fully know I only have this job because I made a pledge let me meet his dad at a Ritz Carlton for lunch.
Will going through the hell of studying for the CFA help me feel like I'm a more valuable employee? I would like to find a new role in New York hopefully next summer so I figured at least having CFA level 1 could only help me.
Is it worth the time or should I just be grateful for my role and learn as much as I can?
