this is my view - basically if it is an email or text (work or personal) I send it whenever I want eg weekends, 3 am etc. my logic is most people have their phone on silent and read/ respond messages when it suits them.

If it is a phone call however, then that is obvs weekday office hour.

what do you mean? wouldn't that mean they check their emails on Saturday...

Please don't do this. Send on Monday morning. No one wants to be bothered during the weekend, or late at night, by a thank you email - it's just courtesy thing. Everyone in banking (and similar industries / positions) has notifications enabled 24/7 so it really is quite irritating to be bothered by something non-important like a thank you email.
