SEO-U Investment Banking
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has completed the SEO-U program and has any feedback on it. Is it basically a guaruntee of future acceptance into the SEO Internship program? Im doing it as a freshman and it is alot of work and im wondering if its really worth it

I received my acceptance to the program today. I am also a freshman and would imagine that it would strongly distinguish you from future SEO applicants. Keep in mind that it's still a great learning opportunity, and nothing beats free comprehensive career prep/mentorship.
Did anyone else get this email?
The wording seems to imply that some of us have already been selected. I wonder if they send it out to everyone who was initially invited to SEO-U.

I got the same message too. I'm really curious if these are the interviews that will eventually get us into SEO. There doesn't really seem to be a clear bridge from SEO-U to SEO.
I received the email too. I'm not sure what the process is...I was under the impression that these are additional prep/mock interviews.

We have fielded some questions and wanted to provide clearer, individualized feedback regarding your next steps. Please disregard the instructions provided in the previous emails.
The goal of the mock interviews and coaching calls is the same as always - accelerating your development in preparation for the Investment Banking internship selection process in the fall. We will use the mock/practice interviews as a diagnostic tool to shape your feedback. SEO Career IB firm partners will conduct their own formal interviews for selected candidates. The outcome of that process will determine whether or not you are part of the SEO Career intern class of 2016.
Apparently the SEO process is changing now. In the past you used to interview with SEO directly and then if you were accepted, they would place you at a bank. Now it looks like you interview with the banks directly.
yea well I'm a sophomore anyways so I'm probably not even eligible for the upcoming summer. Curious, did you guys actually do every webinar/ problem set over the summer? It was definitely overwhelming at times.. Also, kind of a bummer that they're changing up the selection process. Since the individual firms now hold their own interviews/make decisions independently , is there any tangible benefit besides the training (which is top notch btw)?
It seems that your chances of getting an interview are much better thanks to SEO, and I have a feeling that banks may be required to fill a certain quota of SEO interns, but I'm not sure. I definitely think it improves your chances. I'm in SEO-U as well.
You still could have possibly gotten a SA position as a sophomore. I signed up basically for everything, from the assessments, webinars, coaching calls to recitations. I did't really watch the all webinars thoroughly till recently though.
SEO is still a pretty prestigious group and it definitely says something to the bank, even if they only forward your resume. Getting the first interview is half the battle anyways. But I like to think thehumancalc is right, where the banks will guarantee to take in x many SEO interns.

Does anyone have any idea about the timeline for SEO-U interviews and notification?
So the service could help get one an interview for this summer despite being nearly April? I am also interested in some sort of timeline.
They seem to have deadlines on their website yet still allow application submissions, which confuses me. Has anyone done SEO-U, or SEO for that matter?
