Shifting careers from medicine to finance.
Hello everyone,
I recently graduated with a medical degree from a university ranked around 150 globally outside the EU. I've spent one year working as a doctor, but I've realized that medicine isn't the right career for me.
I hold UK citizenship and I want to transition into finance, ideally in London. My main concern is that I have no finance internships, spring weeks, or other relevant experience.
I'm trying to figure out the best path forward and would really appreciate any advice from people who have made a similar transition or work in the industry. Would it be the best choice to apply to a masters program in finance at a target school gather internships and then apply? would i even get in considering my undergrad is not related? Should I apply directly to graduate or entry-level finance roles, despite having no finance experience? Any advice on the most realistic and effective route would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
