Should I live alone in the city or look for a random roommate ?
Hey,
Looking to move to the city before I start full time next summer. Any bad/good random roommate experiences?
Anyone suggest living alone?

Live alone if you can’t find a roommate you actually know but then try to live with people next year. Ain’t bad living alone but gets a little lonely if you’re a social person
As accurate as it gets. I might add that the reverse goes for living with others; alone time begins to seem like a dream. Both have positives and negatives, so be honest with yourself and go with whichever suits you more.
I would try to find somebody to live with. Might be able to use fb or something to find someone. My friend in another city used fb I think and it worked out. I don't think he and his roommate are good friends but the roommate is chill where it's not a burden. Saves you a lot of money too. I did a random roommate during study abroad and it worked out fine. Hung out with them a bit but ultimately had my own group of friends and they had there's. He was chill so it all worked out.
I'm sure there's some people with horror stories though so idk. It's just for a year so really you just want to find someone who's not a nightmare/won't steal from you, then get a place with your friends the next year.
Living alone is better, but given how much you'll be in the office I'd try to find someone who is also in IB and together you can afford a far better apartment for the same price that a shitty studio would be. You won't be there all that much and having laundry in building/unit and a doorman makes a big difference
