Should I nepotize
I went to a semi target and finished 2 full years of IB and just quit after clipping my bonus. My dad is a CEO for a public company and has friends at other adjacent ones. I made the final round for a few startups on my own but didn’t pan out so I’m thinking I just use the network and considering the dynamics I’d likely be promoted quicker down this road and maybe will go for an MBA in 2 years. Thoughts?
100% tap the nepo connections. Why not?
Just feel some degree of hesitation because of the stigma. But it’s probably not logical
At the end of the day you’re the one who wakes up everyday and lives your life. You overestimate how much other people think about you, or care. Nobody thinks about you. Everybody is busy in their head the same way you’re in your head about this.
I know plenty of rich kids that had the opportunity to do this shit but ended up dead or in jail. Just do it.
why? you don't want to make the commies jealous?
Yea why not
Go ahead and fully use it. Just don't be an ass about it later on.
Use it, embrace it, get in, work hard, and don’t be a dck. Then you’re golden
you cannot
become nepotize!
that is not human condition!!!!!!!
You’ll be judged less for using nepotism than DEI candidates were for using those programmes
Hell yes, it’s hard out here.
Yes
Think of it like this. Anyone in a worse situation than you, would use it instantly. Why put yourself at a disadvantage in a highly competitive industry for absolutely no reason?
Yes, leverage your connections. Nepotism if you're smart is just playing a good hand with good cards. The "bad" nepotism in my view is when someone with half a brain cell gets a competitive job just because of connections and then does poorly in the job.
One of the worst interns I've ever worked with was a nepo baby. He showed up to work late, left early, and half-assed the work that he did do.
One of the best interns I've ever worked with was also a nepo baby. She gave 110%, which because she was also whip smart meant she produced great work, and never complained about the hours.
You get to choose whether you want to be a Jayden Smith, or a Nick Cage.
I work my ass off in the hopes that one day my son has the option of leveraging “nepotism”
If you’re dealt a good hand, play it
Do it and actually be good at the job . Massive difference between a Nepo that sucks and someone who is killing it. The narrative definitely shifts a bit , but also who cares?
Play the hand you are dealt.
