Should I say I want to work in investment banking long term during interviews?
Hi,
I do this thing during interviews, and I could tell it's one of the places I lose the interviewer, where I say I want to work in investment banking long term. To be completely honest, I want to work for two years, then go into private equity, and then perhaps after a decade of that and business school, either become a partner or something, or become like a tech investor. Maybe if I do IB and I like it a lot I would stay, but I really want sell side experience. Should I honestly say my plans during interviews, or should I say I want to work in IB at their firm until I become an MD or something?
