Showcasing previous outstanding offers
What's going on guys. Curious to know what you all do to showcase that you were extended offers and declined while in the bulk of recruiting season? Obviously, this will show demand/interest from other shops but looking to do so in a tasteful way. Thanks
You don’t... unless you’re one of those cringe linkedin flexers. Nobody gaf if you had other offers if you’ve already accepted one. The bank you’re at will define you not the offers you had and didn’t accept.
Thanks for that. Makes sense and sort of what I had concluded. Would you recommend bringing it up as you're recruiting with another firm that you held out for, if the opportunity presents itself, and in a subtle manner?
Absolutely don’t do this. Don’t mention it in any way shape or form. The bank you’re at and the deals you’ve worked on is what matters
Great, thanks!
There is no tasteful way to do this.
As the above poster said, the main way people will derive demand for you is from the current firm you're at!
I have seen this happen a lot more often in big tech, where key people or even founders drop the famous "I could have worked for google but picked this route instead". This is a scenario for startups, founders, and fund raising a la shark tank or with VCs, but not great in banking.
