SIE and Finra Exams - what should i do

incoming 2023 IB analyst and will graduate in December, so have 6/7 months to myself. I believe I have to take the SIE, S7 and S63 according to the offer letter. I want to take these test before I start so i can get it out the way. Can i take these test alone? If so any guidance and what to study would be helpful

You can take the SIE (edit: and S63) while you're still in school, the S7 will require your firm to complete a U4 and register you for those exams.

A lot of the analysts started having already completed the SIE but it's not at all necessary.  I found studying the SIE materials led nicely into studying the S7 materials.  My firm had provided Knopman Marks materials, which were great.  Your firm will likely provide materials, so consider that before going out of pocket on prep.

You can take the SIE and 63 before graduating on your own. I recommend getting the Knopman Marks study material and just watch the videos (at 1.5x speed) / hammer practice problems. The tests are pretty easy if you put the hours in.

I think the most efficient way to study is to take a practice quiz after each video and only read the book if you're really struggling. Once you pass one of your practice exams I would schedule your test and just grind practice problems until you take it.

You'll need to be sponsored to take 73.
