Has anyone noticed most of your MDs are painfully socially awkward/anxious? It's hard to have a normal one-on-one conversation with most of them. They also don't really strike me as the happiest people. I notice many of them have massive inferiority complexes too.... what gives? I work in cap markets at a BB too so you'd expect these people to be ... normal?

I have to say half of the MDs I have worked for have been some Socially awkward. The other half have relativity normal lives and are arguably more fun to work for.
When you say inferiority complex what do you mean. All I can picture is an MD flexing his rolex
Rolex (singular)? More like number of Maseratis, location of vacation homes, seats to major sporting events (tennis, F1, golf, etc.) or LP stakes with existing clients. Those were some of my previous boss's favorite conversation topics especially with new clients.
