Sophomore Internship
I’m a bit confused as to the process for applying for a sophomore IB internship. Do I apply during spring of my freshman year as if I was a sophomore doing typical SA recruitment? Or is there some kind of separate process I just don’t know about? I am non-diversity and hoping to land something at a BB EB or MM for next summer. Thanks for any clarity you can provide.
Non diversity at BB/EB/MM sophomore is like 4 spots a year lol
I do not know of any formal recruiting processes for EBs, but for BBs, the typical timeline for recruiting is from mid-summer to late fall. Some firms like Goldman use the same application for sophomores and juniors, while other firms have specific programs for sophomores with varying diversity restrictions. Even if you don't check any diversity boxes, it's still possible to get interviews to some of these programs if you have a really strong resume and/or networking ties. Start by looking up "[BB name] + sophomore program" to gauge which firms have programs as well as their timelines.
