That would be great but it’s hard as fuck. Only way to really do it is nepo/diversity. That is 100% true for freshmen. 90% true for sophomores.

I only got an internship through connections. Ofc be qualified and competent. Be professional. But that’s the bare minimum

 

Just see where other sophomores go. Somehow landed a hidden internship program at a MF just by networking with alums

 

nowadays ppl are done with recruiting before their sophomore summer even starts, so it doesn't really play the biggest role.

Most ppl I know just interned at regional boutiques or some random PE shop. Legit sophomore summer stuff are mostly for diversity/nepo  

 

If you go to any decent semi-target or better, it really doesn’t matter what you do sophomore summer. Most banks realize that not everyone has an internship their sophomore summer, and even if they do, it’s usually not too demanding. Any experience that you can get will be great
