I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on sophomore internships that place you well for a BB IB job for junior summer. I know of all the diversity programs at BB's and the BAML Capital Markets one, but does anyone know of any boutiques that offer internships to sophomores?

You just gotta reach out to IB's in your city or near the city where you go to school.. Boutiques do not necessarily have a standard recruiting process, more of a rolling basis. Any boutique IB freshman/sophomore summer will set you up great.

As a student who just finished my sophomore year I can tell you that any internship experience is valuable. I am interning at a regional bank in compliance, even though I have 0 interest in the field. Within 3 weeks I have been able to meet with several executives including the CFO because I expressed interest in the company and have a strong academic resume. This led to me being moved to the M&A department of the company. If you get any relevant experience after your sophomore year you will be ahead of 90% of your competition for junior IB recruiting.
