Sophomore Looking to Apply to IBD Diversity Programs

I am a 3/4 South Asian + 1/4 Latino rising sophomore. I am looking at sophomore diversity IB opportunities. All of them have exclusive options to select my race. I don't want to select Latino because I look more South Asian but I won't be able to apply to the diversity opportunities if I select Asian. I don't want to be that one clearly-not-latino guy being interviewed. The "two or more races" option clearly says "non hispanic" so I can't select that. What do I do. South Asians, probably rightfully so, seem to have a reputation about lying about their race on here and I don't want to seem like I am.

Do you have a South Asian last name?

I'd typically just say put Hispanic and be done, but if your name is clearly Asian they won't select your resume for a diversity program, and if you don't look remotely Hispanic you may get a superday but probably won't get the spot either. And if someone feels you were trying to lie about race it could negatively impact you when you come back for junior recruiting.

I personally would just put South Asian and apply to the non-diversity ones, 1/4 isn't diversity to me - totally understand others may feel differently, but sophomore BB IB is not the end of the road and your chances for it are already so low I wouldn't want to give anyone a reason to ding you the next summer
