Spring Insight: Apply now or much later?

School doesn't start until September 28. If I apply now I have no societies to add to my resume (which I need help on, if anyone would pm me). If I wait, then the app may be submitted too late for a real chance.

Do I apply now without societies or wait two months so I can join them? Please help.

Thx

I’m in the same position as you and made the mistake of applying too early for banks that won’t review applications until December/January. I’ve already added so much to my resume since I applied in Aug/Sept (competitions, societies etc) and I regret not waiting until Nov/December to apply with a stronger resume.

I would only apply early for banks which have a rolling application process and rely on online tests to screen applicants. E.g. Morgan Stanley leans heavily on the numerical reasoning test, and a score in the highest percentile is a key factor in getting an interview. Practice these tests! I flunked the Morgan Stanley test because had no clue how time-pressured it would be.

Just my 2 cents. Hopefully we both get in to the insights we’ve applied for, and COVID doesn’t make it a virtual insight in April...
