Spring Transfer - No GPA?

Hi everyone

I will be transferring to a target/semi-target in the coming spring semester. I would also be recruiting in the same spring since I am transferring as a junior and starting in the spring pushes me back a semester, giving me an extra summer that would put me in the class of 2025. I was originally planning to take an extra semester, assuming I had been admitted for fall, so I can have that extra summer and recruit in the spring as a sophomore with a GPA, but such is life.

I will not have a GPA at the new school of course so how will this affect me in regards to recruiting for IB and CB roles and is there anything I can do to help me out in this situation?

I dreaded my old university because it was boring so I'm happy to leave it regardless if I have to start in the spring. I'll have more opportunities here even as a spring admit. Thanks in advance.

Use your previous school’s GPA for the first semester. Don’t put your previous school on the resume nor LinkedIn. Only put expected grad month and year on the resume. I, and some of my friends, did the same when we transferred and it worked perfectly. No issues at all. Good luck.

I guess I can do this, but would it not raise questions for firms if they were to ask for transcripts? I had a 3.9 at my old school and of course I will try to achieve the same at my new school but with grade deflation it might be a bit more challenging.

In my experience, you don’t get asked for a transcript until AFTER you get an offer/start the internship. By then you’ll have a current GPA and updated resume.
