Stifel comp in London
Hi all, does anyone have any insight on the analyst-associate pay bands at Stifel IB in London? Have an offer there but the base seems light.
Thanks

Well why don't you share the base and we can provide insight on if it's light or not.
What's your background and what position where you offered.
Sure, coverage group associate. £68k base. Was told likely ~£150 all in
£68k base for an associate is very low these days considering some A1’s are now getting £70k
100% seems light as well but look its not an EB/BB, they do (L)MM deals. not sure what you are currently doing but I would not 100% focus on the money for now if this is your entry to IB.
note that ~150k total comp with 68k base implies ~120% bonus, which to me seems like the top end of the range that you would even see at BBs (usually something like 80-120%). I would think that 120-130k would be the comp unless you are top bucket and/or its a very good year.
Just some food for thought when putting things into context.
I thought that was probably the case. Would be good to get info from someone who has been through the analyst program there. Anyone?
I work there & pay is below market. Idk who told you that Associate 1's get a 120% bonus because that is very unlikely, although I do know of one person here that did but this is definitely not the average here.
Stifel London doesn't have a fixed pay structure in place so most people earn differently but on average Associate 1 is £70k base with a bonus of approximately £50k but it really depends on your performance and which team you're in as some teams pay better due to stronger deal flow and revenue generation.
Given you're coming from Research and this is you breaking into IBD I wouldn't care about the money for now, comparison is the thief of joy.
I would just focus on the learning prospectus, you can always lateral to another bank a couple of years later.
One benefit of Stifel London is the culture. I personally believe we have the best culture across all banks (of course culture will depend on team and there still are the douche bag seniors which can make your life stressful but in general our culture is great) - good responsibility & exposure to seniors, very little weekend work, very rarely work late - your hours will probably be the best out of all the other investment banks.
Out of interest what are stifel ldn good at?
Their FIG franchise (through KBW) is quite active in the middle market space
Any ideas as to tech or fig salary - given these are former boutiques stifel acquired
Same as other teams
as someone interested in the KBW (FIG) M&A team, are the hours there still reasonable compared to other Stifel teams?
See above please.
Any update on this - anyone got insight into london salary for An2 and on what the good teams are (particularly interested on thoughts on TMT)
They only do Tech, and culture is horrendous
Could you elaborate? feel free to dm
AN2 is about 65k - 70k (again there is no defined pay structure). Wouldn't say there are 'top' teams but would avoid consumer as much as possible. Tech, industrials (paper and packaging), HC, FIG and NRG probably the better teams (in no particular order). Would also massively advise to avoid the firm if you can - pretty sure any other offer would be superior
Tech seems to be a decent enough team - decent sell sides with c £200m ev? or is it really that shit
An1 salary is a nice Gregg’s Sausage roll and a pint of Carlsberg
that’s a proper brekkie to be fair innit
