Stifel Soph Summer or Girls Who Invest (Want to go into IB)

Hi all! I have an offer for both programs, and have to decide really quickly. I want to go into IB and potentially PE after - currently recruiting for summer 2025. Would stifels soph summer or GWI summer intensive program be more valuable? if anyone has done either, can you share your experience? TYIA!

I did Stifel's sophomore program 2 years ago so I can offer some insights, but do you know which company you'll intern with this summer through GWI? 

 

unfortunately no, i find out in march if i sign with them… how was ur stifel experience? ty👏

 

Their sophomore explorers program was pretty relaxed. It was more of a learning experience than anything - we rotated through IB, fixed income cap markets and ER (a week per rotation), and a final project at the end. The conversion rate from sophomore explorer to junior summer analyst was pretty high (but most folks had offers from other banks already). 

 

Spoke w someone in last years class, was a similar experience to yours probably. One month program during summer. This yr, it’s 4 days in January, so most aren’t gonna have offers already. I’m excited about it. She was also saying how this years class is much bigger than her class of about 20 participants.

 

Had to choose btw GWI and IB last summer too and called a GWI alumni who had the advice to take IB since it was directly applicable and what I wanted to do and learn. I got to do IB the entire summer and rerecruited for junior summer to a better bank. Since Stifel is rotational, I honestly would push for GWI. Most girls I know who did it had an amazing experience and have the same path in mind as you. Obviously don’t tell GWI that you’re rerecruiting for banking bc they want girls to stay on the buyside, but you won’t be the only girl to do it.
