So, I was initially intending on studying away for the spring semester of my sophomore year, but a lot of people are saying that Junior SA recruiting will start during that time period. Would I be at a disadvantage for recruiting if I were to study abroad at that point since I would be missing info sessions/coffee chats?

If you’re recruiting for banking, definitely stay on campus sophomore spring and study abroad any semester junior year.
Huge disadvantage, most (70%) of my school's on campus recruiting for summer 2020 occurred/is happening during this semester (Soph Spring).
