Study SIE, 63, and 79 before Analyst Starts?
I’ll keep this short. Should I study the above before Analyst starts or just do it on the job? Any benefits to studying early? Thanks!

How does this typically work if you decide to study on the job. Are you given a few weeks to prepare 100%? Or are you supposed to prepare on your own time?
Are you referring to before starting training or actually hitting the desk? Big difference. Personally, I would knock out the SIE and at least one of the series exams before starting. Takes off some pressure of starting a new job.
what about before training? youd still recommend getting it done before that?
If you have the time you might as well. The 63 takes 5 days or less to study for and the SIE doesn’t take much more. In my opinion if you have the time it’ll just make your life that much easier transitioning to full time.
wondering if it’s worth to study it a year in advance in college? or r u just going to forget a lot of the minuscule details
Nope. Don't do this.
Do you have to do this before summer analyst or FT?
Hey farter3513
It sounds like you already got the job. Given that, you don't have to do anything - you could just wait until you're 'on the clock' to deal with the SIE, 63, and 79 like most people do. There shouldn't be any penalty for doing that.
The only reason you'd want to start now is if you wanted to get a head start, or make your life easier than your colleagues who will spend the first 3 months simultaneously studying for these three exams and also starting their Analyst roles. If you can, I'd at least consider getting the FINRA SIE out of the way as it's pretty straightforward and doesn't require sponsorship to take. You can walk in with it day one and at least be done with 1/3, making the workload for your other two tests a bit easier.
Either way, you'll be good. Best of luck!
Very helpful! Thanks @tyleryork !!
Is it worth to study the 63 and 79 before analyst year starts, or is it so granular that id forget time come the test?
