Summer Analyst Position

Participated in an externship/shadow day yesterday at a top asset mgmt firm. Close family friend is an MD and had one of his VP's plan a whole day shadowing employees in various roles and departments. Followed up with the VP immediately after to thank her for planning such a great event. She got back to me today and said everyone was really impressed with my knowledge and willingness to ask questions. I'm just a sophomore and they only hire a couple sophomores each summer for Summer Analyst positions at the firm. I come from a semi-target but a target for the specific firm and have a good GPA and take tough classes. Really loved the company culture and the roles I'm applying for at the firm, so I want to work there pretty badly this summer. Do you think whoever is responsible for hiring me will check back with the people at the office I shadowed and see what they thought of me? I'm hoping they do because I think I made a good impression and made an effort to demonstrate heavy interest.

Not a troll job I just wasn't sure exactly how much my connection could help. The VP has nothing to do with interns though and I'm not applying to work in the department of the family friend or VP. Applications due Sundayz Waited for after the externship to send in my resume which helped me craft an application tailored to the company and the roles I want. Definitely a good move in retrospect. Thanks for the feedback though, I didn't wanna get my hopes up too much only to be let down so that's why I maybe appeared lacking in confidence
