Summer intern struggling

Doing group specific training this week and I feel like I’m the only one who is lost. Everything’s coming in way too fast - I feel like I might not be cut out for this stuff. Struggling to understand basic concepts and things I should already know. With that being said, I want to learn and get up to speed. Interning in an industry coverage group at a BB, could really use someone to walk me through things and answer my very dumb questions.

Easy to feel overwhelmed in the beginning. Take good notes, have a great attitude, and show interest in the work. You’re gonna be okay my friend!

Ik people always say this and it's hard to believe, but it's true that everyone else is as confused as you are. No one's just saying anything because they think the same thing as you because they don't want to draw attention to themselves. But guess what? Asking questions and showing you genuinely are trying to understand is 100% better and will reflect really well on you rather than suffering in silence.

Emphasis on a lot of what other posters have said. It’s a lot of information at first bro, don’t beat yourself up over it but at the same time use this uncomfortable feeling as motivation to learn and get better. Show up everyday with a good attitude, show initiative even if it’s small tasks (which it will most likely be), and demonstrate constant improvement over the summer. The key is to not finish the 10 weeks in the same spot you started. You got it

Thanks brother - yeah that’s exactly what I’m trying to do, hopefully it pays off!
