Summer is coming to an end. Did you enjoy your IB internships?

Too much on this forum I see discussions about making it into IB. I want to hear more about whether IB interns out there feel like they have made a good decision for themselves. For those who just finished or are about to finish an IB internship -- how did you like it?

Did you like your coworkers and supervisors? Did you adjust well to the hours? Do you truly see yourself doing this for the next couple of years? Do you see yourself continuing a long path in the financial services industry?

100%. Tremendous live deal exposure, client interaction and group culture. Yes, the job had tedious and monotonous moments, but perspective is powerful. There are many worse careers and jobs out there.

Elite. 70-75. 4-6 hours of weekend work. No pitches but prepared a few decks that served as discussion materials in addition to the summer's live deal work.

Wasnt ib but a buyside place that paid street salary. I loved it and I loved everyone who I met, made some great memories every friday night. I definitely took way too much shots at most interns but some of them worked and made for an even more fun experience.

Edit: I would heavily advice against the later, my class was just really cool and I wasnt creepy, or else it could had turned out badly.

I didn't do an IB internship this year but might be useful for some:

I did an IB internship last year. I hated it, I thought it was brainless work and I was definitely not cut out for that type of job. Now I got my dream internship, with a dream team, got to learn a lot of different stuff and I couldn't be happier. (even got paid more)

Moral of the story for some guys who aren't sure about what to do: do what you like to do. It's not worth wasting 2 years in the prime of your life doing stuff you don't like doing just for "exit opps".

Had an internship in IB last summer, this summer had the choice to do IB or PE and chose PE. Have regretted it all summer and now I have to find an FT role instead of receiving a return offer from the IB I could've worked at.

Loved what I did on sell side and I wish I'd stuck to what I loved instead of trying something else.

That is fair. People I asked for advice told me it would make me more competitive for IB and I don't think that is the case anymore. Could be wrong but would've felt more secure taking something guaranteed than risking not having an offer by graduation.
