Summer PE --> IB FT

Some background, I'm a current Junior and wasn't able to land a IB SA position, but I was able to land a PE SA role at a solid shop in nyc. My end goal is to end up doing IB full time in nyc after I graduate. Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare myself for recruiting fulltime IB? I know it's not for a while, but just want to get an idea of how to back up not doing IB this summer
