Superday Prep Checklist Format
I used this template while I was going through recruiting this year. Thought it may be of use to rising sophomores getting ready for the crazy accelerated timelines.
Technicals
1) Accounting
2) DCF/Transaction Comps/Public Comps
3) LBO & Merger Models
Fill in areas of weakness that are personal to you- whether it be a particular type of accounting question or an LBO question. I used to write down specific ones I'd miss cnnsistlenty
Useful sources I used
M&I 400 questions
WSO Technical Guide
M&I Full Guide (A little excessive in terms of difficulty, but good guides to use to build base knowledge)
Behaviorals
1) Why Banking
2) Why Firm
3) Why Group
4) 5 Most Common Behaviorals
https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/blog/how-to-maste…
5) Situational Questions
Mergers and Inquisitions has a really good method for prepping 4-5 stories that be can be used for all behaviourals
6) Potential objections to background i.e. non-target, non-finance, low GPA, no offers, weak resume, liberal arts
Helpful Resources
WSO Behavioral Guide (really good and comprehensive)
M&I Full Guide on how to prep efficiently for behaviorals
Internship/Deal Experience
1) be able to explain every bullet point, rehearse answers out loud and think of possible follow up questions
2) M&I 400 Questions Guide has a really good section called "discussing transaction experience."
Market Related Questions
I stressed the most about these questions. They are the hardest to predict. I went the route of being fairly comprehensive. When going through question banks for firms like Qatalyst, these seemed very common and hard. They are aimed really gauging your interest in an industry.
1) M&A trend
2) Industry trend
3) Capital markets trend
4) Stock Pitch
5) General deal to discuss
6) Bank specific deal to discuss
7) Pitch an M&A deal
I felt this 3-step format was really helpful in boiling things down in a manageable way for some tough and rigorous firms.
Also, here is the most helpful WSO in my opinion on prepping for non-content interview prep.
