Taking SIE After June 1st?

Going to be starting fulltime at a BB this summer in July

Knopman suggested to take the SIE before June 1st. I’ll be travelling and not sure if I’ll be able to make that. Is there any reason why they suggest to take it a month out from starting? What if I take it mid June?

Thanks a ton guys

You can take it 30 days after - the problem is you could run into the designated study/training days for the 63 and 79 while still having to study for the SIE, which you have to pass before taking the others, and then you're trying to study/take the other two right when you hit the desk... have seen this happen when people fail one of the exams and it just starts you off on the wrong foot, to say the least.

Are you studying abroad? The SIE is not hard but it's a lot of information to cover, any way you can watch a few Knopman videos a week / take the practice quizzes? I'd try to take it before June 1 just so you definitely will have a second chance without running into conflicts with the other tests. but if you need to take it in early June no one is going to fire you

You have to wait 1 month between retakes, that is why they recommend you take it prior to June 1st. Most firms give you 1 re-take opportunity. If you fail it twice, your offer is rescinded.

They told me the same thing. Took it in August though. Wasn't too keen on spending my final weeks in college studying for it plus wanted to travel after graduation too. I wouldn't worry too much about the June 1st date. Take it a bit later.

No. They gave us some dedicated study time for the 79 and 63 around August so took the SIE a week before that...early August. I think the June 1st date is not a hard rule but just more of a suggestion. Enjoy your last days.
