Taking/ Studying for 79 after hitting the desk fine?

So starting in June my bank told us to pass the 79 by november, which I figured is a shit ton of time. So I spent the last few months traveling around Europe and chilling and having an amazing time before my life literally ends haha.

I wouldn’t be worrying at all but I am talking to like every analyst in my class and it seems like 85% of kids have already passed it and got ahead. Now I am nervous af and feel super behind. I know the bank recommends us to pass before we hit the desk, but is it ultimately fine? Is it pretty normal to be studying for it while working?

Depends on the bank. Some MMs the analyst go the entire time with no licenses because a licensed person (VP/MD) always reviews the materials, which is technically the regulatory rule. At my BB cannot be on any live deals without a license, so being the odd analyst who is still trying to study for the exams while you hit the desk will obviously hurt you
