Talking about deal experience for internship recruiting
Have a few deals that I plan to have in the resume before I submit to SA2028, but I wanted to know generally what are expectations when it comes to questions surrounding those. All of these are private transactions so I won't be able to speak to specifics and since I was an intern I played a role in the beginning, but as it went through the pipeline it became more and more of the AN/ASC and up role. Assume that the transactions are both M&A and Private Credit. Thanks.
You can keep specifics vague and speak at a high level on the business/transaction. For example, if you worked on an industrials label manufacturer, you can speak on the end markets it served, margin mix and forecasts for each respective business line, if/why certain business lines had more defensible moats than others, why the m&a deal made sense for the acquirer (i.e. expected synergies, geographical positioning, etc.) You can speak very granularity on these if you know your stuff, all without having to say any specific names. Hope this helps.
how did you end up even getting deal experience as a first year?
