tech analyst, need some advice - future path

Hey guys,

I'm a hardcore engineering major @ a top 5 university. All banks recruit here and on average they take 7-8 analysts each year.

I've taken 3-4 graduate courses (I'm currently a junior) and my GPA is on the low side 3.1 through my major GPA is around 3.56 - unfortunately I have to work in excess of 15 hours a week, which is screwing my GPA.

I was originally hoping on working for a couple of years in the tech departments and then b-skool yada yada. However now I'm interested in working as a i-banking analyst..

Now last summer (summer after soph year) I had an offer from BofA as a tech-analyst, however I wasn't able to do the internship due to some unforeseen circumstances.

I've started applying for internships for next summer (both as an i-banking analyst and tech analyst), though I guess I don't have a shot at getting i-banking internship at a BB given my low GPA (or do I?). The dilemma I'm facing right now, is if I should contact my BofA recruiter from last year and get the same job, or should I try someplace better? Also is it possible to make the switch from within the firm between the tech department and the i-banking department?

any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

sound like you are at a target. They sometimes forgive lower gpa's at targets, but i would try to bring that GPA up to at least a 3.2 if you can. Hopefully you do other activities on campus that will demonstrate your social aptitude and leadership. I know from personally reviewing resumes myself that we do not automatically discard anyone with a low GPA ,unless it's very, very low.

Why is my bullshit meter reading off the charts?
I honestly dunno, I'm just trying to communicate the fact that I go to a target school - thats not famous for its engineering. Till last semester I was sure I wanted to go to graduate school, but after taking some classes in my area of expertise, I've realized its a pigeon hole.

Thanks for the comments guys. What about the BofA thing I mentioned? Any idea how is BofA? I've heard lots of mixed reviews...
